Lady guard of airline nabbed for keeping passenger’s cash

AIRPORT policemen at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 arrested a lady security guard of Cebu Pacific for keeping a missing pouch containing assorted foreign currencies in her locker left by a passenger who arrived from Malaysia on Wednesday.

NAIA Terminal 3 airport police officer-in-charge Capt. Bing Jose identified the lady guard as E. Rendoque of Quickstar Security Agency.

Rendoque was allowed to enter the aircraft to inspect left behind items of passengers before allowing departing passengers to board the plane.

Jose said that a Malaysian passenger identified as Sugin Charles Supramany arrived on Sept. 20 from Malaysia around 12 midnight on board CEB flight 5J 500 and quickly notified the airport police about his missing pouch he left in the plane.

Jose dispatched his men to locate the missing pouch containing US$1,190, 2,000 Malaysian Ringgit, 60,000 pesos.

The police invited all ground staff of Cebu Pacific assigned at the flight 5J 500, and inspected comfort rooms and lockers and they found the navy blue color pouch inside the locker of Rondoque.

Rendoque, for her part, said she admitted that she was tempted and took the pouch containing assorted currencies for the operations of her mother.

Jose said Rondoque was charged with qualified theft and was inquested at the Pasay City Prosecutors Office.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal ordered the cancellation of the access pass of Rendoque and permanently banned her from airport premises.
