Spring is in the air.

The Hong Kong Flower Show 2018 in Victoria Park has opened and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of horticulture lovers not just from HK but also from around the world.

The event, organized by the Leisure and Cultural Department Services Department, opened on March 16 and will last until March 25 at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay. The entrance fee is $14.

“Dahlia, a striking blossom that comes in a bold palette and varied forms, will grace this year’s Hong Kong Flower Show as its theme flower,” the LCSD said.

“As the theme ‘Joy in Bloom’ suggests, the exquisite blossoms of Dahlia will greet visitors from near and far with gorgeous smiles, filling their hearts with joy as they take on a remarkable journey through the colourful realm of botanical wonders,” it added.

The LCSD said the event will showcase this exquisite plant and a rich profusion of exquisite potted plants, beautiful floral arrangements and gorgeous landscape displays by organizations from local, the mainland and overseas.

“During the show period, a rich diversity of educational and recreational fringe activities will also be organized for the enjoyment of visitors of all ages,” the agency said.

“They include student drawing competition, photo competition, exhibit competition, music and cultural performances, floral art demonstrations, greening activities workshops, green promotional game stalls, guided visits, recreation programmes and fun games,” it added.

The LCSD said there will also be commercial stalls selling flowers and other horticultural products.
