6 OFWs die in June

A Consulate official urged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to take extra care of their health and in their work after six OFWs died in Hong Kong last month.

Junie Cayabyab, an officer of the Assistance to Nationals Section of the Philippine Consulate General, said that besides driver Aying Mission Reolope, who died in a vehicular accident in Pok Fu Lam on June 1, five other OFWs died of natural causes last month.

“Four of them died due to heart disease while the fifth died of lupus which was not detected on time,” Cayabyab said.

“Let us take care of our health and make sure that we do not get overstressed,” he added.
