Autumn has arrived.

Hong Kong will enjoy fine weather with cool evenings this coming weekend, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.

Temperatures in the city are expected to range from 23 to 30 degrees Celcius on Saturday and Sunday, with the temperature in Ta Kwu Ling in the New Territories expected to dip to as low as 19 degrees.

“A dry northeast monsoon is bringing generally fine weather to Guangdong. Locally, the relative humidity in many places fell to 40 per cent or below around noon,” it said.

The Observatory said there was a typhoon in the western Pacific but it going towards the Korean peninsula.

“At noon, Typhoon Kong-rey was centered about 260 kilometers south of Okinawa. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 18 kilometers per hour across the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands,” it said.

The Observatory said cloudy weather was expected next week, with temperatures ranging from 24 to 29 degrees Celcius. On Friday next week (October 12), temperatures could go down to 22 degrees to 26 degrees.
