A domestic worker from the Philippines tested positive for coronavirus in Hong Kong, health authorities announced Tuesday.

The lone imported case who flew in on Jul. 27 tested positive on the second sample she submitted, Dr. Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection.

The Philippines is one of the countries Hong Kong has deemed high risk for the virus. Travelers coming in from the country should have a negative test result.

The domestic worker is among the 36 new cases Hong Kong recorded today, six of which have untraceable sources of infection.

Another case is linked to Wang Kee Port Operation Services in the Kwai Chung container terminal. He developed a fever en route to the quarantine center.

Of the 8,000 bottles they sent over to the port, Dr. Chuang Shuk-kwan said they have received 2,600 containing samples.

The Kwai Chung container port is one of the infection clusters in Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam deemed as “worrying,” alongside the foreign domestic worker cluster.

Hong Kong has a total of 4,561 coronavirus cases. The death of a 95-year-old male this morning has increased the number of deaths in the city to 70.
