Filipina among 14 new COVID-19 cases in HK

A Filipina is among the 14 newly-confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Hong Kong, health authorities reported Sunday.

The 36-year-old asymptomatic Filipina arrived on Nov. 13 via Cathay Pacific flight CX906. She is one of the nine imported and asymptomatic cases, data released by the Centre for Health Protection showed.

The other COVID-19 cases are from Indonesia, Hungary, Bangladesh, Russia, United Arab Emirates, and Germany.

Four local cases were linked to previously informed cases.

The sole local case with an unknown source of infection confirmed today is a man, 49, who lives in Sha Tin. He developed a fever on Nov. 6.

The man last went to work on Nov. 9 at Shan Kwong Road in Happy Valley. Three days later, he went to a private doctor check-up and submitted a saliva sample for testing.

Sunday’s record of COVID-19 infections brings the city’s case total to 5,459.
