A Filipina reportedly attempted to commit suicide in Sha Tin on March 5 but was stopped by the police, authorities told Hong Kong News.

A 44-year-old Filipina climbed out of a window of the 5th floor of the Prince of Wales Hospital early this morning.

“At 5:33 am, there was a report made by the staff of the Prince of Wales hospital. A Filipino female was located at the canopy of the hospital,” a police spokeswoman said.

“They were suspecting that she would like to commit suicide,” she added. The police arrived and talked to her. They were able to eventually convince her to go back inside.

The police spokeswoman said no note was found and no suspicious circumstances have been discovered.

“The case was classified as a suicide attempt. Why the Filipino was in a dangerous position is still under investigation,” she said.
