Police probe into assault of Pinay worker in Tai Po

Police are now investigating the case of a Filipina domestic worker who reportedly got assaulted by her employer inside their unit in Tai Po in late October.

The 39-year-old Filipina, aided by Pieter Nootenboom of Hong Kong Overseas Filipino Workers (HKOFW), filed the report at the Tai Po police station Saturday afternoon.

According to a police spokesperson, the police first received the complaint on Oct. 29. The Filipina had reported she got hurt by her employer and injured her ear in the scuffle on the same day.

The case is now classified as “assault occasioning actual bodily harm.” No arrest has been made so far.
