Cebu Pacific and Cebgo yesterday (July 5) remitted to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) around P245.6 million in unrefunded airport terminal fees.

MIAA said the P245,610,829 covers unrefunded terminal fees (Passenger Service Charge) of approximately 212,100 international passengers who travelled between Feb. 1, 2015 to April 30, 2018 and 892,800 domestic passengers who travelled between August 1, 2012 and April 30, 2018.

“We thank Cebu Pacific and Cebgo for taking the lead on this. I am confident that the rest would follow soon,” said MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal.

Passengers who travelled during these periods may apply for terminal fee refund during business hours at the MIAA Collection Division, Ground Floor, MIAA Administration Building, MIA Road, Pasay City.Â

They are advised to bring with them their ticket “with record locator” and a valid identification card.

The Passenger Service Charge (PSC), or more commonly known as terminal fee, was first integrated in airline tickets for domestic flights on August 1, 2012 and for international flights on February 1, 2015.

Under the Memorandum of Agreement and Implementing Guidelines for the PSC Integration Project, air carriers are required to remit their collections based on flown passengers.
