Two Filipinos were injured in the school bus accident in North Point that left four people dead yesterday (December 10), a Philippine Consulate General (PCG) official said.

Consul Paul Saret, head of the PCG-Assistance to Nationals Section, said the police informed the consulate on Monday evening that a Filipino man and woman were among those injured in the deadly accident.

“The police informed us that a 50-year-old Filipino male and a 43-year-old Filipino female were injured,” Saret said.

“They were brought to separate hospitals—Ruttonjee and Pamela Youde—and they are in stable condition,” he said.

“Both are HKID holders so they are not tourists,” he added.

Saret said the police did not say if the two Filipinos were permanent HK residents or overseas Filipino workers.

“We will coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration to find out and if we can visit them today,” he added.

Four people were killed and 11 others were injured when a runaway school bus rolled down Cheung Hong Street and slammed into a building early yesterday afternoon.
