Filipina issued $5k penalty ticket for not wearing mask in Central
A Filipina was issued a HK$5,000 penalty ticket after she was caught without a mask in Statue Square in Central on Sunday.
Philippine Consul General Raly Tejada shared a copy of the Filipina’s ticket on Facebook on Monday.
“Kawawa naman si Kabayan. Pinagmulta last Sunday ng $5,000 dahil di nagsuot ng facemask sa may Statue Square,” Tejada said.

The Philippines’ top official in Hong Kong then reminded Filipinos to always observe social distancing and abide by mask-wearing guidelines.
It is required to wear a mask when entering public spaces, public transport carriers and MTR paid areas—save for country parks. Violators will be fined HK$5,000.
