Filipino musician tests positive for COVID-19
The Department of Health confirmed to Hong Kong News that the 276th person infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a Filipino.
“The patient of case 276 is a Filipino,” the Information and Public Relations Division of the Department of Health said in an email on March 23.
Case no.276 is a 29-year-old musician who worked in Lan Kwai Fong. Dr. Chuang Shuk-Kwan of the Centre for Health Protection said he will visit or go to different clubs during the time of his work. He exhibited symptoms on March 17.
Prior to this, there have been five confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection from Lan Kwai Fong, a popular area for tourists and expatriates.
On March 22, the musician was announced as one of the 44 people who contracted the virus in the special administrative region.
Hong Kong now has at least 317 cases of COVID-19 infection with four deaths. Out of the 317, seven are Filipinos – one musician and six domestic helpers, four of whom have been discharged.
