Pictures of a Filipino domestic worker who was allegedly locked out by her employer of their flat here in Hong Kong have gone viral.

The worker, identified as Lorna E.
C., in her mid-50s and from Capiz, was allegedly made to sleep in the hallway outside of her employer’s flat, according to a source at the Philippine Consulate General (PCG).

A PCG officer was able to talk to Lorna after the employer allegedly locked her out again after she threw out the trash on Friday.

“She said whenever she makes mistakes, the employer would make her write them down as if she was a kid,” the PCG source said.

The employer allegedly also kept her mobile phone and did not give her enough food.

Members of the Jesus Is Lord (JIL) church are helping Lorna, who decided to go back to her employer on Friday evening, the source said.

“She said she would report to Immigration (tomorrow). We are monitoring this. Dapat umalis na siya bago lumala,” the source added.

The PCG would assist the helper once she decides to leave her employer.

The source added that government records showed that Lorna had been an overseas Filipino worker since 1995.

She has been with her present employer for five months and does not have an agency.
