The Philippine General Consulate said on June 4 that the last Filipino who remained in confinement after being infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has already been discharged.

The announcement came more than a month after the PCG reported about the last recorded case of the said Filipino who got afflicted with the disease, which has affected 6.29 million and killed 380,000 globally.

Over 20 Filipinos have been infected with COVID-19 since February, some of which are domestic workers while some are part of what has been dubbed as bar and band cluster. The cluster consisted of 62 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection from the following bars – Insomnia in Lan Kwai Fong, Dusk Till Dawn,  Centre Stage in Wan Chai and All Night Long in Tsim Sha Tsui – and involved nine bands – at least seven of whom are Filipinos.

No new local cases have been reported in Hong Kong as of June 3. The city has 1,094 cases of COVID-19 infection and 4 deaths
