Parts of Makilala submerged in floods due to LPA-induced rains
Manila, Philippines – Severe flooding was experienced in some parts of Makilala, Cotabato following heavy rains this Valentines Day (Feb.14).
Small vehicles such as cars and motorcyles are having difficulty to cross the Makilala-Tacurong national highway because of gutter deep floods.
Members of the Makilala Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Red Cross joined together in helping stranded students to pass through floods aboard pick up and Army Trucks to take them home safely.
Landslides were also reported along Makilala-Davao Road.
According to PAG-ASA, the rains experienced are still caused by the existing low pressure area.
