Lanterns light up HK for mid-autumn

Hong Kong is illuminated by spectacular lantern displays to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

At Victoria Park, local paper craft master Hui Ka-hung’s seven-meter-tall Chinese vessel lantern Happy Duo under the Full Moon features the Leisure & Cultural Services Department’s mascots riding the waves.

About 1,000 colorful lanterns light up Tung Chung East Promenade under the theme of “Love & Reunion”, including a giant neon light lantern and four-meter-tall lantern walls designed by architect Stanley Siu.

For public health and safety, visitors are required to take appropriate precautionary measures during their visits to the lantern displays.
