11 Filipinas arrested for gambling on streets out on bail
The 11 Filipina domestic workers arrested near Chater Garden in Central on Sunday for suspected gambling on the streets are out on bail, police said Monday.
A spokesperson for the Hong Kong Police Force said no charges have been filed against the 11 since the investigations are ongoing.
The Filipinas were ordered to report back to the police in late May.
Consul General Raly Tejada earlier said the Consulate will extend assistance to these workers if needed, but reminded Filipinos to abide by Hong Kong laws.
The Filipina workers were arrested during police operations in Central on Sunday morning, Apr. 26. Police said they seized playing cards and gambling money from them.
The workers were also issued fixed penalty tickets worth HK$5,000 each for violating the group gathering restrictions.
