25-year old Filipino mother under probe for neglect of child      

Authorities are still investigating a Filipino mother for allegedly neglecting a 3 year old kid that led to injuries. 

On February 21, at 8:11am, the Hong Kong Police received a report from a passerby who found a boy lying on his back with a toy beside him.  

 The boy was suspected had fallen from a height. 

 Paramedics arrived and the boy was sent to the hospital. The boy suffered facial injury. 

 Upon initial investigation, it was found out that the 3-year-old boy was alone in their sub-divided apartment in No. 62, Connaught Road, Sai Wan. 

The mother, a 25-year old Filipino holding a HK ID, was arrested on suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child or juvenile in his custody and the case was referred to the Western Police District Criminal Investigation Team 1 for follow-up.

In an online media platform, it was reported that the boy lives with his mother and an older brother.

It was learned that the family moved to the first floor of the building only two months ago.

 At the time of the incident, it was reported that the mother was out to bring the older child to the school.  

In a telephone interview today, 26 Feb, the duty Police said that the mother is on Police bail and still under investigation.

The Filipino mother was scheduled to be interviewed on late of March for further investigation.
