35-year-old Indonesian domestic worker dies from suspected drowning accident

The Police said that they received a report from a friend that a woman was suspected to be drowning in waterfalls at the Tso Kung Tam, Chiu Tam Path, at Tsuen Wan, yesterday, 12 September.

Officers from the fire department arrived at the scene and rescued the woman.

The woman was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in an unconscious state for treatment and was later confirmed dead.

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed by an autopsy, a Police report said.

Upon initial investigation by the Hong Kong authority, the woman was a 35-year-old, national of Indonesia holding a Hong Kong ID and working as a domestic worker in the city.

The Police classified the case as “died on arrival at the hospital”.

Tso Kung Tam waterfalls is one of the destinations of domestic workers during days off and holidays.
