No untraceable local infections among 9 new Covid-19 cases
Hong Kong saw nine new confirmed Covid-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the city’s coronavirus caseload to 11,429.
Five of the cases were imported, all of which were found carrying a variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Two of them, aged 30 and 40, are domestic workers from the Philippines who arrived in Hong Kong on Mar. 23 via Cebu Pacific flight 5J272.
Another domestic worker from the Philippines who arrived on Mar. 12 via Philippine Airlines flight PR300 tested positive while under quarantine.
The two other imported cases are a 9-month-old baby girl from India who arrived on Mar. 4, and a 44-year-old female who entered Hong Kong from Pakistan.
All four locally transmitted infections reported today were linked to previously confirmed Covid-19 cases.
A staffer from the Department of Health said less than 10 people tested preliminarily positive for the coronavirus.
