The Centre for Health Protection confirmed one new case of Covid-19 infection on Saturday, bringing the city’s coronavirus caseload to 11,940.

The sole Covid-19 case is a 39-year-old man who entered Hong Kong on June 29 from South Korea. He boarded Korean Airways flight KE607 and did not show any symptoms.

He tested positive for Covid-19 while under quarantine in a hotel in Hung Hom.

A staffer from the Department of Health said he did not carry a coronavirus variant.

In the past two weeks, 54 Covid-19 cases have been reported including one local patient with unknown origins of infection.
