A Filipino female domestic worker was confirmed positive with Covid-19. She adds to the current number of confirmed cases the Philippines has imported to Hong Kong.

The 35-year-old Filipino arrived on Nov. 17 via flight CX906. She received one dose of vaccine in the Philippines on July 17 from Janssen.

The 75-year-old male from the UK is the other person confirmed with Covid-19 today. He arrived in Hong Kong on Nov. 19 via flight CX252. He received two doses of vaccine in the UK from BioNTech on Aug. 20 and Oct. 29.

The two confirmed positive cases were announced by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) on Nov. 21. Hong Kong now has 12,402 total confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Both of them arrived in Hong Kong asymptomatic from Group A or high-risk places, and both were infected with an L452R mutant strain of the coronavirus.

The Domestic worker was tested positive while at her designated quarantine facility (Penny’s Bay Quarantine Center), while the man was tested positive during the “test-and-hold” arrangement upon arrival at the Temporary Specimen Collection Center at Hong Kong International Airport.
