Persons born in 1959 can now apply to JoyYou Card
In a government announcement, persons born in 1959 can now apply to JoyYou card starting Friday.
The JoyYou Card is a personalized Octopus Card tailor-made for the Government Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities.
Eligible persons can apply by posting the application forms or via the Octopus App mobile application.
The JoyYou Card carries a personal photo and the name of the eligible beneficiary for identification. Each eligible person will be issued with one card only. Octopus Cards Limited (OCL) will send the JoyYou Card to the applicant’s Hong Kong postal address within four weeks upon receipt of the completed application.
The Government said will subsidize the HK$20 application fee for the first application of eligible persons, and the applicants do not need to pay any application fee to the OCL separately.
Only person born in 1959 applications would be accepted for the period of October 1-October 31.
Persons born on other years eligible to apply for JoyYou card are scheduled on the following dates:

Persons born between January 1 and February 26, 1957, can automatically enjoy the concession with JoyYou Card when they reach the age of 65.
