Woman in Ngau Chi Wan slashed; Knifeman still at large

A woman was stabbed by a stranger near a railway station in Ngau Chi Wan on June 8.

She received wounds in her back and limbs and is listed as in serious condition.

The woman, 43, was walking in a pedestrian underpass connected to Choi Hung MTR station exit C in Wong Tai Sin at around 7:40 pm.

Police are still hunting for the assailant, aged in his 30s and 40s.

The man suddenly slashed the woman with a cleaver knife and then ran towards Ngau Chi Wan Market.

Another police source said the victim works at a vegetable stall in nearby Ngau Chi Wan market.

There might have been some business-related issues.

The victim was treated by paramedics and was sent to United Christian Hospital in a conscious state.

Police cordoned the area to investigate. Officers also carried shields while searching for the suspect in the area.

Blood stains were found on the wall and police found another cleaver knife in another package. It’s suspected that the attacker had two knives with him at the time.

According to a source found in early investigations, the victim didn’t know the man.

On June 2, a man stabbed two women, aged 22 and 26, in a random attack at the Plaza Hollywood shopping center in Diamond Hill., about 1km from the latest case.

One victim was immediately declared dead at the scene while the other was later pronounced dead at the hospital.  The suspect is charged with two counts of murder.
