The Labour Department announced on Saturday that the Rambler Garden Hotel in Tsing Yi will open as a designated Quarantine Facility for incoming foreign domestic workers starting Nov.1 which will provide additional 500 rooms.

This is a new addition to the existing quarantine centre in Penny’s Bay and Silka Tsuen Wan.

The spokesman said that employers and employment agencies can start booking starting 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 through the online booking system of the Rambler Garden Hotel (http://www.ramblerhotels.com/garden).

The fee will be HK$650 per night per room which will include three meals and all charges.

In a government announcement, they said that it will require the person making a reservation to provide copy of the domestic worker’s passport, valid employment visa and recognized vaccination record to verify the identity of the incoming domestic worker.

They also reminded employers and employment agencies to only book an air ticket for the FDWs after a room has been successfully reserved in a designated quarantine facility.

The spokesman added that the government understands the need of local families for FDWs but because of the pandemic, admission of FDWs should be resumed in a gradual and orderly manner.

Meanwhile, additional 200 units have been added to the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Centre on Lantau Island yesterday, making a total of 1,000 units for quarantine of incoming domestic workers.
