Covid-19 jab bookings for children aged 12 and up opened, as no new infections logged
Hong Kong children as young as 12 can now book for BioNTech vaccination appointments on Friday as health authorities confirmed zero new Covid-19 infections.
Bookings for coronavirus jabs from the German drug developer for those aged 12 to 15 opened at 9 a.m. today.
They may choose to get inoculated at 24 community vaccination centres. Similar to protocols for 16- and 17-year-olds, those aged 12 and up must bring a consent form signed by their parents to receive the vaccine.
The bookings and the consent form are available on the designated website: http://www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/
The expansion of the mass vaccination scheme came as the city confirmed no new coronavirus cases. Hong Kong’s Covid-19 case tally still stands at 11,875 with 210 related deaths.
A Health Department staffer said fewer than five people tested preliminarily positive for Covid-19.
