FDW from PH among 5 new Covid-19 cases

Health authorities confirmed five imported Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong on Saturday of which one is a Filipina domestic worker.

The Filipina worker tested positive for Covid-19 while under quarantine in Hong Kong. The four other imported cases today came from the US, Qatar, and India.

She was found with the L452R mutant strain of the coronavirus,  a Health Department staffer said.

The woman arrived in Hong Kong on Sept. 16 via Philippine Airlines flight PR300 . She earlier received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from BioNTech last Apr. 2021 and is currently asymptomatic.

In the past 14 days, 40 imported cases were reported summing up the total confirmed cases to 12, 158. 

Meanwhile, the Philippines recorded 23,134 cases today, totaling its confirmed cases to 2,347,550.
