Magistrate hears Two Filipino assault case
Within three days, two cases of Filipino accused of assault was heard at Eastern at Magistracy Court this October.
Last Oct. 21, Maricel Landicho Tamboan, a Filipina domestic worker was charged of Assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 40-year old Pinoy assaulted another Filipina, Helen Bandong Garcia on July 14 this year at Bracken Hill, Barker Road, at the Peak. The assault resulted actual bodily harm to Garcia, as stated in the court document but details of the incident was not disclosed.
Tamboan’s counsel told Magistrate Daniel Tang Siu-hung that Tamboan was terminated after the assault and now staying at a boarding house as her new address.
She was on bail for HK$500 and case was adjourned on Dec. 15 to collect documents and for legal advise from her counsel.
On Oct. 19, Florendo Flores, 37 years old, a resident, working as construction worker, was charged of common assault under section 40 of the Offences against the Person Ordinance , Cap 212, of Laws of Hong Kong. Court document reported that Flores assaulted a Filipino male Jun Gardola Abuau on Oct.18 at Hennessy Road.
Principal Magistrate Ms. Ivy Chui Yee-mei asked the defendant Flores to go to Duty Lawyer’s office to get a counsel for his case. He was on bail for HK$1,000. The case was adjourned on Nov.10.
