PH records 22,366 Covid-19 infections

The Philippines confirmed 22,366 new Covid-19 infections on Monday, breaking yet another record for the country since the pandemic began.

Monday’s tally vaulted from the Philippines’ previous single-day record of 19,441 on Saturday, Aug. 28.

The new infections recorded by the Department of Health brought the country’s coronavirus caseload to 1,976,202.

Of the total, only 7.5% or 148,594 people are actively sick. Some 97% of these active cases show either only mild symptoms of coronavirus infection or no symptoms at all.

The DOH also recorded 222 deaths related to Covid-19 and 16,864 recoveries.
