Seven of the 33 new cases in Hong Kong involve Filipino Domestic Workers

Seven Filipino domestic workers were among the 33 new cases in Hong Kong as announced by Health Authorities on Friday.

Among the seven confirmed cases, six were confirmed and one is asymptomatic.

Case 12845 is a 27-year-old worker who arrived in Hong Kong on Jan. 4 via Cathay Pacific Air CX906 flight. She is fully vaccinated in the Philippines from AstraZeneca (Confirmed Case). She had onset symptoms on Jan. 5.

Case 12846 and case 12847, aged 26 and 36 both, arrived in Hong Kong on Jan. 1 via Cathay Pacific Air CX906 flight. Both are staying in a Designated Quarantine Facility at Courtyard Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin. The 36 years old worker had onset symptoms on Jan. 5 while the 26 years old is asymptomatic.
Case 12854 is a 51-year-old domestic worker who experienced the onset of symptoms on Jan. 5. She resides at Mei Sun Building in Tai Po. She is fully vaccinated in Hong Kong from BioNTech.

Case 12859 is a 45-year-old worker who arrived in Hong Kong on Jan. 5 via Thailand by flight ET608. She is also a confirmed case with an onset date of Jan. 5. She is fully vaccinated from BioNTech in the Philippines.

Case 12863, Case 12866, and Case 12869 were staying at Rambler Garden Hotel when they tested positive for Covid-19 with an onset date of Jan. 5 and Jan. 6. The 38-year-old worker arrived in Hong Kong on Jan. 1 via Cathay Pacific CX906 flight while, the 30-year-old female arrived in Hong Kong via Philippine Airlines PR300 flight. The 30-year-old meanwhile arrived in Hong Kong on Jan. 1 via Cathay Pacific Air CX906 flight. They all received two doses of Sinovac in the Philippines.

Hong Kong also recorded 83 additional Omicron cases bringing the total cases to 223, while in the past 14 days from Dec. 24 to Jan. 6, 281 cases, tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
