The Philippines is Miss Intercontinental 2021
Cindy Faye Obeñita, a 25-year-old Tourism Officer from Cagayan de Oro, Philippines was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 in Egypt on Saturday.
She bested over 70 ladies from around the world and was the second Filipina to wear the Miss Intercontinental crown after Karen Gallman who won in 2018.
During the most awaited part of every beauty pageant, the 25-year-old representative was asked if speaking English is important for Miss Intercontinental.
She answered: “As an ambassador, I don’t think that speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all. As long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment, and intelligence, no matter what language she speaks, and that woman is actually a woman of style and substance, then she can win any pageant or any endeavor she is into.”

Obeñita added, “I have learned here in Miss Intercontinental, that a woman should possess the power of substance and I believe I am that woman because that is an essence of a modern-day Miss Intercontinental, we are living in a world wherein it’s very hard to survive, and as Miss Intercontinental, I would like to be that source of hope; that source of inspiration on the true power of beauty and that is felt in the kindness of our hearts and definitely in the sincerity of our loving actions.”
Obeñita graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Mass Communications from Liceo de Cagayan University.
She works as a tourism operations officer of the provincial government of Misamis Oriental and sidelines as an events host, model, and brand endorser.
She founded Crown CDO: A Cervical Awareness and Prevention Circle to rally her advocacy for cervical cancer prevention. She also advocates for women’s empowerment.
