A man was arrested inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Sunday after he allegedly used shabu (known as “ice” in Hong Kong) inside one of the airport toilets.

The Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group identified the suspect as Vincent Apion Pascual, 30, and a resident of 15th Street Corner 2nd Street, Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.

According to investigator SP03 Dennis Ragma, the suspect was arrested at around 9:20 a.m. yesterday (June 10) near the toilet of the NAIA Terminal 3 arrival area.

Janitor Danny Pones had complained that suspect locked himself inside one of the cubicles of the toilet for more than an hour and inconvenienced other toilet users, Ragma said.

When the suspect came out of the cubicle, Pones saw him “throw something in the garbage bin,” Ragma added.

The investigator said Pones searched the garbage bin and found an aluminum foil and an empty transparent plastic sachet believed be contain shabu residue.

He said the janitor immediately alerted the police in the area and they arrested the suspect, who was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency unit at the airport.

Manila International Airport Authority general manager Ed Monreal ordered an investigation to determine how the suspect managed to enter the NAIA Terminal 3, with the shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and illegal drug paraphernalia.
