Car nearly runs over family of three outside St. Joseph’s Church in Central

A car nearly ran over a family of three outside St. Joseph’s Church, which is popular with Filipinos, in Central on Easter Sunday (April 1).

A video footage of the incident showed that it happened at 5:38 p.m. on the northeast-bound lane of Garden Road. The family of three was crossing the street, going to the direction of the church, as the car approached.

The driver tried to swerve to the right to avoid them but his car still hit one of the three–a woman–before her two companions also fell down on the road.

Screaming could be heard  as some onlookers ran to see what happened. The driver stopped his car.

According to Apple Daily, the 47-year-old woman and her two companions were Japanese while the driver was a 60-year-old Chinese man. The woman and the 11-year-old girl with her were brought to a hospital for treatment of hand, feet, and mouth injuries.
