Emgoldex victims in HK to file complaints

FILIPINO domestic helpers who were duped into parting with their hard-earned money to invest in fraudulent investment scheme Emgoldex are set to file their formal complaints.

Officials from the Assistance to Nationals section of the Philippine Consulate General told Hong Kong News that more than 10 Filipinos met them on January 31 to discuss their complaint. During the discussion, it was revealed that the victims invested at least P10,000 each in the get-rich-quick scheme.

Attaché Hermogenes Cayabyab Jr. said he advised the complainants to prepare their documents to make their complaint formal. The complaints are scheduled to be filed within the month.

The PCG had been urging Filipinos who fell prey to investment scams involving Emgoldex to file their formal complaint.
