PAL resumes flights to HK

MANILA—Philippine Airlines (PAL) resumed its flights to and from Hong Kong today (Aug. 13) after the flight cancellations yesterday due to the mass protests at the HK international airport.

PAL Spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the following flights resumed operating today:

PR 300 MANILA – HONG KONG

PR 301 HONG KONG – MANILA

PR 318 MANILA – HONG KONG

PR 319 HONG KONG – MANILA

PR 306 MANILA – HONG KONG

PR 307 HONG KONG – MANILA

PR 310 MANILA – HONG KONG

PR 311 HONG KONG – MANILA

PR 312 MANILA – HONG KONG

One flight from Hong Kong—PR 313—was supposed to leave at 8:05 a.m. today but it was cancelled together with hundreds of flights as the airport tried to resume operations.

Villaluna said that the PAL resumed its flights to and from Hong Kong came after protest actions at the HK airport died down. However, protesters have vowed to return this afternoon.

PAL said it would continue to closely monitor the situation in Hong Kong and assures the flying public of regular updates.

PAL on Monday cancelled evening flights to and from HK–PR 310/311 MNL-HKG-MNL and PR 312 MNL-HKG—including today’s PR 313 HKG-MNL flight.

Villaluna said affected PAL passengers of cancelled flights last. Monday (Aug.12) were given three options:

  1. To be accommodated on flights to/from Hong Kong today (Aug.13)
  2. To rebook within 30 days from original flight date with rebooking fees waived
  3. To refund the cost of their tickets within 30 days from original flight date with refund fees waived
