Selling bikini gets FDH in hot water

SHE said she only wanted to help.

A Filipino domestic worker in Tung Chung got into hot water after she was caught selling a bikini in her employer’s store.

Andora, not her real name, pleaded not guilty after she was charged with breach of condition of stay at the Shatin Magistrates’ Courts on January 29.

“Para sa akin po, tumutulong lang ako duon sa customer,” the domestic worker said.

The prosecution said the Filipina was arrested on the afternoon of July 19, 2015 at her employer’s store in Tung Chung after an undercover policewoman bought a bikini from her.

But according to Andora, she went to the store to bring her employer’s lunch. She stayed there while waiting for her employer.

She said she was going to fetch her employer’s son from his English tutorial later.

“Wala po akong ginagawa maliban sa nakaupo at naglalaro ng cellphone,” Andora said.

She said she saw the undercover policewoman approach and say, “M goi (Excuse me).”

“Tumingin ako sa kanya. I said in English, ‘Yes?’ Tinanong niya ako kung may maliit na size yung nakahang sa wall.”

“Sinabi ko in English, ‘Have a see.’” Andora said, adding that she did not expect to get extra income from it.

The court will release its verdict on February 15.
