Star Ferry and HK tram rides free on Nov. 29
The rides on the Hong Kong Tramways and on the Star Ferry will be free on Nov. 29, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) said.
The business group said the HKGCC Free Ride Day was set on Nov. 29 to celebrate the group’s 157th anniversary.
“Members of the public can ride on Hong Kong trams and the Star Ferry for free on Free Ride Day on 29 November,” the group said.
The HKGCC Free Ride Day was launched in 2011 as part of annual celebrations of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce’s establishment on May 29, 1861.
The tram and the Star Ferry are two of Hong Kong’s oldest and most popular forms of transportation and, like HKGCC, have contributed significantly to the growth and prosperity of the city.
The HKGCC groups the major companies and businesses in the city and aims to promote, represent, and safeguard the interests of the business community in HK. It also provides support, networks, training and business services to help the city’s business community grow.
