Domestic worker commits suicide in Tai Kok Tsui

An Indonesian domestic worker was found dead hanging inside her employer’s home in Tai Kok Tsui this morning (January 16), the police said.

The police confirmed that the worker was a 27-year-old Indonesian and not a Filipino.

“The worker was not from the Philippines. She was from Indonesia,” a police spokeswoman said.

“She did not leave any suicide note but there were no suspicious circumstances in her death,” she added.

The Oriental Daily earlier reported that the domestic worker was found hanging inside a flat in Block 8, Lang Cheng Wan, 8 Hoi Fai Road, Tai Kok Tsui.

Her elderly female employer found her at around 6:51 am and the police were called.

A responding ambulance crew certified that the worker was dead. The police are conducting an investigation.
