The Centre for Health Protection said on March 26 that a domestic worker who arrived in Hong Kong on March 16 from Manila tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

She is the fourth domestic worker who took a Manila-Hong Kong flight who was later confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.  The first transited through Taipei, the second one is case no. 327, while the third one is case no. 383.

The fourth domestic worker from Manila, case no.412, is currently confined at the United Christian Hospital. She previously lived at Kwun Tong Disciplined Services Quarters, Tseung Kwan O Road, Lam Tin.

“She’s a new arrival, the domestic helper, after arriving, she lived in a boarding house,” CHP Communicable Disease Branch head, Dr. Chuang Shuk-kwan,  said.

“We are doing tracing in that boarding house as well, we are trying to find out how many people stayed there, those will be regarded as close contacts, the domestic helper started to have a cough. Of course the employers will have to be quarantined as well.”
