A 35-year-old Filipino domestic worker was found dead in the New Territories early this morning (May 17), according to the Hong Kong Police.

A police spokeswoman said the worker was found hanging inside her employer’s flat at 26 Tin Sum Street, in Sha Tin.

“Her employer found her hanging. She used a rope,” the spokeswoman said.

“The case was reported to the police at 7: 23 a.m. A responding fireman certified that the woman was dead at the scene,” she added.

The spokeswoman said no suicide note was found and the preliminary police investigation found nothing suspicious.

“Investigators are treating this as a ‘person found hanging’ case,” she added.
