WORLD ( Las Vegas ) : Authorities reported that a lone gunman unleashed a rapid-fire barrage of bullets from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino hotel late Sunday, killing at least 59 and injuring 527 others attending a country music festival  show at the Route 91 Harvest Festival just outside the Las Vegas hotel.  According to NBC News, police identified the sole gunman as Stephen Craig Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nevada. He was found dead with self-inflicted wound when police blasted the door off the room at the 32nd floor at Mandalay Bay. Investigators found 23 firearms in Paddock’s hotel room  and 19 more at his home including explosives and several thousand rounds of ammunition. Electronics were also seized from the shooter’s home and are being evaluated.

It was the worst mass shooting in modern American history, and Stephen Craig Paddock was “solely responsible for this heinous act,” Assistant Clark County Sheriff Todd Fasulo told reporters Monday night.  President Donald Trump, who will visit Las Vegas on Wednesday, called the shooting “an act of pure evil.”
